A. JOB SUMMARY: SHIFT ELECTRICIAN
Responsible for the electrical maintenance works and repairs of the power plant.
B. STATEMENT OF DUTIES
1. Performs necessary maintenance/ troubleshooting/ inspection and repair works on all motors and controllers, power circuit breakers, disconnect switches, battery and battery chargers, power transformers, switchgears, motor control centers, and lighting system of the power plant; Prepares tools/ equipment needed for electrical maintenance; Investigates causes of trouble during unscheduled maintenance in coordination with operations personnel & assist in the synchronization of engine to blackstart; Assist during test run of engines & auxiliaries; Implement PMS scheduled/ unscheduled maintenance work under the supervision of the Electrical maintenance supervisor & leadman;
2. Monitors auxiliary motor load current, insulation resistance as well as end bearing temperatures;
3. Monitors station battery condition, ( i.e. solution level, specific gravity ) and charging voltage & current;
4. Assists in the inspection ,trouble shooting and repair works on the power plant instrumentation and assists in the conduct of calibration activities;
5. Prepares trouble lights for scheduled repair and PMS of equipment;
6. Shall assist Shift Engineer on all procedures of the Blackstart Operation;
7. Performs cleaning and housekeeping around working area especially at the control panels, cubicle switchboards and electrical equipment;
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
