System Analyst/Programmer Fulltime

Duties and Responsibilities


Manages and administers University information systems, including, learning management systems, student management information systems, online admissions, library information systems, human resources information systems, document management systems, survey systems, entry-exit systems, ect.

Identifies supports and resolves all information systems-related issues and concerns and escalates to the vendor/provider, as appropriate.

Troubleshoots and provides end-user support in core system functions.

Conducts regular application and database performance monitoring to ensure the reliability and availability of all University information systems.

Performs regular backups and conducts integrity checks of all application and database backups.

Performs regular security checks in all University applications and databases.

Installs application security patches and updates on a regular basis.

Monitors and maintains the application and databases of all hosted websites.

Manages and conducts the ongoing systems and processes training program for the University.

Designs and develops training curriculum and materials for specific system implementations and applications.

Creates and customizes application pages and ad-hoc reports to support end-user requirements.

Interprets end-user requirements for system enhancements and projects, and translates them into detailed design system specifications.

Prepares and maintains the technical system and end-user documentation for personnel training and support.

Conducts information systems training for University personnel with the End-User Support Services Unit.

Develops, tests, and maintains software code, queries, reports, and program applications using appropriate tools and languages.

Coordinates with project manager/s in projects of limited scope or portions of large/complex projects and provide guidance to other analysts/ programmers on a project basis.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering or any IT-related discipline

At least three (3) years of experience in managing systems/software projects, and coordinating/supporting IT processes.

Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support

Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications
