The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for supervising, monitoring and evaluating all day-to-day accounting activities, which includes scheduling jobs and delegating duties to accounting department. One must participate in basic accounting functions, such as assessing accuracy of accounting data, fielding questions directed at accounts payable and receivable, keeping track of records and monitor billing & collection. In addition, one must be able to effectively communicate with employees and maintain a positive working relationship when addressing problems and coming up with solutions.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
Must have atleast 2 years of accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation highly preferred.
Organizational Skills:
Knowledgeable on the basic principles of HALAL
Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, up to date laws and regulations
Possession of excellent time management and team management skills
Keen to information and details in monitoring the overall performance of the department
Communication Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to understand the details of clients’ deliveries, and pass instructions to team members to carry out without erring
Effectively communicates to the management committee (Mancom) regarding the department’s overall performance and suggested action plans to improve business financial goals
Analytical Skills
Must be able to spot inconsistencies between the statements and supporting financial records
Accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
Mastery of accounting and tax preparation
Computer Skills
Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software (ie.managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formula)
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
Able to travel as needed
