A sales associate is responsible for the following tasks:

  • welcoming customers, maintaining store appearance, and directing customers to goods
  • operating cash registers
  • making  more sales and gets customers products suited to their needs
  • overseeing the work of all staff members
  • keeping up-to-date records on products sold and total daily sales
  • participating in regular meetings to discuss company projects and objectives
  • ensuring a clean work area/store while processing item stocks and completing mark downs
  • answering customer questions and helping customers finalize their purchases
  • greeting customers on arrival
  • helping the customer with returns, refunds, and resolve common complaints
