JOB SUMMARY
The System (Linux) Administrator works with R&D department and other business units in understanding the development process and hosting of web and mobile applications on Linux and similar platforms. They provide technical support in various degrees to create and support the application’s hosting requirements, CI/CD platforms, network, and security.
At Fligno, customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve the customer experience we are now looking for an experienced System (Linux) Administrator.
The position will be responsible for provisioning and managing infrastructure and Linux and/or similar platforms covering server instances, network, and security.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
Provisioning and management of Linux and similar operating systems
Understanding the needs of stakeholders and assisting in planning and execution
Work on ways to automate and improve the provisioning and release processes
Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
Identifying technical problems and solutions
Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Linux and similar platforms from planning, provisioning, and maintenance
Provide technical support to various business units
Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
Perform root cause analysis for production errors
Investigate and resolve technical issues
Develop scripts to automate processes
Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline
Experience as a System (Linux) Administrator or similar software engineering role
Proficient with git and git workflows
Proficient in Linux operating systems and hosting applications using Apache and/or Nginx in secure environments (e.g.: HTTP/S, SSL, etc.) and PHP
Proficient in network and routing; various protocols such as, but not limited to FTP/SFTP, SSH, VPN and configuration, and similar.
Ability to author and test shell scripts to automate process and system activities (e.g.: Bash, Perl, etc.)
Experience or competent with configuration management frameworks like Puppet, Ansible, and Chef
Experience or competent with monitoring systems
Experience or competent knowledge of database systems (e.g.: MySQL, Percona, and similar)

Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Must possess solid time task prioritization skills
Must have strong deductive logic, reasoning, analytical skills, troubleshooting skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with cloud computing technologies like AWS and/or GCP
Familiar with Hashicorp stack (Terraform, Consul, etc.)
Experience or competent in developing engineering applications for a large deployment
Previous success in technical engineering
Coding experience beyond simple scripts
Related certifications (e.g.: AWS, Linux, etc.)
Fintech and blockchain experience
