Position Summary:

The IT Technical Support monitors and maintains the computer systems ,network and telephony systems of the University. They may install and configure computer systems diagnose hardware and software and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To provide technical support to telephone, email and walk-in request form users for all PC hardware, software, telephony and associated computer peripherals.

2. To install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications to agreed standards under the directions of the head.

3. To monitor and maintain existing PCs and peripherals, computer systems, telephony and network by performing upgrades new installations and carrying out routine procedures.

Job Qualifications:

• Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering

• Preferably with Computer Hardware Serving (CHS) National Certificate II (NC II)

• At least one (1) year experience in computer hardware servicing and computer/network troubleshooting and repair

• Strong background and knowledge on LAN. Operating Systems, Personal Computers, Software Installation and Customer Service

• Skill in explaining technical concepts to non-technical users
