POSITION PURPOSE: To support the department's objective of maintaining the organization’s systems documents, and promoting quality, environmental, health, and safety practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Develop health consciousness of personnel through health and fitness programs.
- Provide simple health or sickness awareness / medical advice to personnel for minor health problems.
- Assist the Safety and Health Officer in the management of health-related risks identified through the Impact/Risk Management Process.
- Monitor and ensure availability of medical supplies and document receipt of supplies.
- Facilitate the conduct of APE and analyze health records to determine if the identified health conditions are work-related or not.
- Assess the employee’s fitness to work (in coordination with the company physician) after the APE or after a filed sick leave.
- Administer first-aid treatments and other interventions to injured company personnel or with complaints of minor illnesses.
- Determine if the person needs further medical treatment and endorse him to a medical doctor/hospital.
- Prepare and submit a monthly report of injury/illness and medical expenses.
- Establish health programs (in coordination with the Safety Officer), implement these programs, and assess effectiveness.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Submit reports to relevant government offices as mandated by the law; which includes but is not limited to:
- Annual medical report to DOLE Regional Office
- Quarterly SMR to DENR
- Accident report to DOLE
- Renew/process the following permits as required by law:
- DENR Permit to Operate Pressure Vessel
- PDEA
- Etc.
- Act as liaison to the above-mentioned government offices.
RECORDS CONTROL
- Collect and record the Impact Risk Assessments of different departments.
- Initiate recording of encountered incidents such as accidents and near-miss accidents.
- Follow-up and review reported corrective/preventive actions from Incident Investigation.
OTHERS
- Assist in other SQM-initiated programs.
- Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Female
- Licensed Nurse
- With experience in industrial setting/emergency care
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 is an advantage
- With good communication skills
