Inventory Assistant Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce, Mass Communications, Others or equivalent.
  • Computer proficient and with knowledge in Windows applications and any logistics-related software.
  • Must possess an analytical mind and pays very close attention to details.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and  must have excellent customer service skills.
  • At least 1 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably 1-4 Yrs Experienced Employee specialized in Customer Service or equivalent.

Inventory Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Process inventory orders, logging items that have been received and items that have been taken from inventory, and physically moving product within the inventory room to the sales floor, and vice versa.
  • Inspect shipments of new stock as they come in, checking to make sure orders have been filled correctly and looking for damage. If items are found to be damaged or incorrect, the inventory assistant must make arrangements to get correct, undamaged items to replace them.
  • Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures

  • Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages
    .
  • Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
    .
  • Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
    .
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
    .
  • Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiency or excessive surplus
    .
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs
    .
  • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
    .
  • Collaborate with logistics employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met
    .
  • Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.
  • Inventory assistants must double-check all prices to ensure that the amount charged for each item matches the amount paid. Sometimes the inventory assistant may also research prices with various suppliers to make sure that stock is being purchased at the best possible price from vendors.
