The primary responsibility of the Agency Manager is manages the relationship between the organization and the agents / agencies (internal or independent) that sell and service of the products directly with the clients. The Agency Manager manages the business relationship between the company and its agents and directs agents marketing focus.
Organizational Role:
The Agency Manager typically serves as member of management and is considered a senior level consulting within the organization. As such, the Agency Manager provides functional, technical or process leadership. The organization will depend on this person\‘s management of multiple teams. The Agency Manager generally is responsible for high complexity and ambiguity. As such, the Agency Manager provides tactical responsibilities.
The Agency Manager generally has the following responsibilities:
Helps determine the granting of authority to agents as well as the products they may handle and their premium and exposure limits. Implements the organizations general policies on the appointment, termination, renewal or reinstatement of agents and contributes to decisions about individual cases. Negotiates compensation plans and new business/customer retention targets with agents, and directs them toward desired target markets. Monitors, reviews and evaluates the performance of agents against their goals for premium growth and retention, loss experience and target markets.
